Pillow Review - Natura Contour Plus Pillow
photo

Now for the 2nd review of the day (which took 2 full months to get to!):

I am now going to review for you Natura's Contour Plus Pillow.  This pillow is identicle in every way with the Natura Contour Pillow except for one detail:  There is 30% more wool in this pillow.

Since they are so similar, rather than retype all the details, you can just scroll down to the next entry and find out how this one is made.  Other than to say that this pillow starts out as Natura's Cloud Plus Pillow before it's tied, there is really nothing about it that is different.

Disclaimer, again, that this was tested in standard size.  The pillow is available in queen and king sizes and all come in a zippered bag with a product label card.  Incidentally, packaged they look identicle to their less hefty cousins, so make sure you read the label.

More wool equals more loft, correct?

Yes, that would be correct!  Coming in an inch taller in the neck roll area at 5 1/2 inches and 6 inches in the head area, the resting loft of this pillow is at or near what a molded latex pillow might be - certainly tall for a contour type pillow.

Remember, wool compresses better than a solid hunk of foam (depending on the foam) so plan on it being lower once the weight of your head is on it compared to the resting loft figures noted above.

In testing, I would have to say that this is the best (at least for me) contour pillow I have tried.  It supported my neck well from the top of the shoulders and cradled my head very nicely.  No heat build up thanks to the wool and just all around extremely comfortable.

Now, a taller contour pillow like this may not be for everyone.  Yes, there's more wool, but the package is the same size - that means the pillow is going to be quite a bit firmer than it's more leaner cousin.

As with the regular contour pillow, this pillow is in the "natural" catagory - natural wool, natural cotton - not organic.  It is, though, really as natural a pillow can get before going organic since the fabric is entirely unbleached.

I would also point out that, as before, whenever you have a hand-made product (or a hand made STEP in that product), there is going to be some minor variation from one pillow to the next.  That's fine with me, so I'm not going to complain too much!

That's it for this one!!
